Eligibility to Alien Registration
Those who intend to stay in Korea for more than 90 days from the date of entry.
Those who lost Korean nationality and got a different nationality or those who were born with Korean nationality that intend to stay in Korea for more than 90 days under permission.
Exemptions from Alien Registration – Those who meet the criteria below are exemption from alien registration.
A person or the family of who works in diplomacy, for official business, or under international agreement (A-1, A-2, A-3)
A person or the family of who is considered to be eligible for exemption to alien registration by the Minister of Justice, who works in diplomacy, in defense industry, or in the industry that is deemed important for a specific purpose.
Nationals of Canada that intend to stay in Korea for over 6 months and are grated one of the visas in the following → Culture and Art Activities (D-1), Religion (D-6), Domestic Visit (F-1), Accompany (F-3), and Etc. (G-1).
A person under the age of 17 (However, the registration is required when turning 17).

Within 90 days from the date of entry

upon the grant of the permission
ex) In case a national of Canada stays in Korea for 5 months under B-2 visa and make an application for permission to change status, foreigner registration is required when making the application for permission to change status.
