Daieum Project for Marriage Migrants
Project Details
- Involving marriage migrant women in community multicultural activities as activists
- Implementing "multicultural family-friendly outreach activities" in different local communities such as kindergartens, daycare centers, child welfare centers, schools, public facilities, and gatherings.
- Each multicultural family support center conducts activities tailored to the demands and characteristics of the local community
- Support for program operation, such as mutual cultural understanding education to improve multicultural awareness, including instructor fees for such activities
Eligibility
- Various local communities such as kindergartens, daycare centers, child welfare centers, schools, and public facilities
Daieum Instructor Recruitment and Selection
- Qualification: Marriage migrants who have stayed in Korea for over 2 years and took the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) (level 4 or above)
* If there are no candidates who meet all the requirements, the selection process can take place in consultation with the head of the local government.
- Recruitment process: Open competition in principle (recruitment notice posted on the respective multicultural family support center website)
- Selection process: Each center forms a personnel committee to select instructors through document screening and interviews
Activities
- Daieum instructors provide on-site education in connection with target institutions for the Daieum project
* At least two instructors from different countries of origin are selected to promote understanding of different language and cultural backgrounds.
Daieum Instructor Training
- Training period: Pre-employment training
- Trainees: Daieum instructors (multicultural activists)
