Home Education Programs

Project Purpose
  • Instructors (Korean language instructors and life instructors) visit homes directly to provide customized services like Korean language education, education for parents, and child life support. The project is aimed at enhancing Korean language proficiency, bolstering childrearing capabilities, and aiding in the development of self-identity, emotions, and social skills.
Services Offered
  • Korean language education
    • Systematic Korean language education by level is made available to marriage migrants (within the first five years of their entry into Korea) and children who have entered Korea following their parents. They can learn daily conversations in Korean and understand Korean culture.
  • Education for parents
    • The program is tailored to specific life cycle stages such as infancy (covering pregnancy, birth, and infancy), toddlerhood, and childhood. This is designed for marriage migrants facing challenges in childrearing due to language and cultural differences.
  • Education for children
    • The program provides support in cognitive, social, cultural, educational, and living areas. It is aimed at helping children of multicultural families, including those who have entered Korea following their parents, establish their self-identity and develop social skills.

      * Home education programs are available after completing a briefing session at the respective centers.

      * Differential costs based on income criteria (health insurance copayments per household) may be incurred per hour.

      * Exempted (free of charge): multicultural family members living in remote islands, beneficiaries of the basic livelihood security program, and those eligible for copayment discounts.

Project Procedure
  • Apply for government support at the welfare center that has jurisdiction over your registered address (application is only possible within the place of residence).
  • After receiving notification of your income type, apply for your desired program at the respective multicultural family support center.

Principles of Providing Home Education Programs
  • Participants are not allowed to take programs of a similar nature or the same household cannot take multiple programs during the same period. Additionally, each individual is not allowed to take the same programs at the same time (e.g. multicultural student mentoring project, language development support project, Korean language education).
  • In areas where multicultural family support centers are not installed or home education programs are not provided, participants may take linked programs between nearby regional centers.
